Join us this October for a fun-packed camp! Bursting at the seams with creative digital technologies, this half term camp is not one to miss. Monday – Stop Motion Animation Bring your imagination and your creativity as we dive into the wonderful world of stop-motion animation. Children will used specialised software to create their own stop-motion animations that they can share with friends and family. From planning and designing to creating, making and onion-skinning they will take complete control over their animations. Children are welcome and encouraged (entirely optional) to bring along one or two little toys they would like to include in their animations. We advise against expensive and large toys. Tuesday – Micro:bit The incredibly small, but incredibly mighty Micro:bit is a credit card sized computer that allows children to understand coding in a tactile, fun and engaging way. The possibilities with micro:bit are huge, from coding a digital game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to becoming a meter to test light levels. It can even become a fruit jukebox! Yes, you read that right, we will use coding and real fruit to make music! Wednesday – Edison Robotics Edison is an amazing little robot that can accompany learners throughout their journey. From simple bar code coding to edblocks, edscratch and even edpy (a python based language). Children will work on both on and off-screen activities to build and code their robots to navigate an obstacle course, play music, and even sumo-wrestle another robot! Thursday – Roblox Game Design This introductory workshop to Roblox game design will give children the basic understanding of creating their own Roblox games. Using specialised software, children will create their own obstacle course from scratch. They will move on to modifying and creating a more complex game with the ability to create their own in-game items and props. Friday – Minecraft in Space Take a trip to outer space with this engaging workshop that allows children to explore space in a familiar and much-loved environment. They will explore the International Space Station, take on a build challenge and build their own Mars Rover and even plan a trip to Mars and understand how to create a sustainable colony on Mars. This is a great workshop for space, tech and Minecraft enthusiasts!
