Our summer camps offer a real taste of the possibilities within creative technology in a safe, fun and engaging environment. Using specialised software designed for education, children are able to grasp and understand complex concepts while unleashing their imagination and creativity. Monday – News Maker Our News Maker workshop is a must-not-miss for any child(ren) interested in creating their own content, understanding video editing and the processes of working in TV and film. Children will use specially designed software that provides an easy and fun platform to practice their language skills – writing, reading, speaking, listening and presenting. They will take on the role of reporter, presenter and producer to create their very own news reel that can be shared with friends and family. Tuesday – Computer Game Design Using specialised software, children will design, create and code their own game they can share with friends and family. From building the landscape and scenery to programming characters, their game will be entirely unique! They will build a solid foundation of programming fundamentals enabling them to understand logic gates and basic computational methods. Children will be able to continue their learning at home and build on their existing technical skills to further develop their gaming programmes. Wednesday – Roblox Game Design This introductory workshop to Roblox game design will give children the basic understanding of creating their own Roblox games. Using specialised software, children will create their own obstacle course from scratch. They will move on to modifying and creating a more complex game with the ability to create their own in-game items and props. Thursday – CSI Students will be introduced to the world of crime scene investigation. They will take on the role of a crime scene investigative assistant to solve crimes and examine evidence. The students will learn about fingerprinting, fibre and hair analysis, DNA collection, splatter patterns, teeth and footprint identification and facial fitting. Children will examine a series of small crimes, and ultimately solve the biggest case of their careers. Once the case is solved, the students will become fully-fledged crime scene investigators. Friday – Minecraft Exploration Island In our exclusive Minecraft World: ComputerXplorers Exploration Island. Children will share the fun and learn along the way as we dig, chop and code our way through a world full of challenges and new discoveries. Creativity and critical thinking will be needed as we work with redstone, grapple with Minecraft chemistry to create new materials and use computer code to get some of the tough jobs done! There’s plenty to dig into for avid Minecrafters and those who are just getting started
