Sploder is an online game-creation platform. Students will develop computer based games in an environment with a ‘fun first’ emphasis. They will be challenged to concentrate on game creativity and strategy without having to overcome the hurdle of learning coding and programming. During this workshop, children will be introduced to the fun 8-bit games like those popular in the 1980s. Children will design and create their own multi-level platform arcade game with gold rings, treasure, baddies and much more! This course exploits the use of technology as a learning tool; specifically, the use of games-based learning. The development of both curriculum learning and soft-skills development is threaded throughout the workshop. Keeping our children's tech camps COVID secure We will be carefully managing our groups to ensure that your children and our staff stay safe while having fun. • Social distancing rules will be complied with throughout the camps: groups numbers have been reduced. • Keyboards, computers and mice will be thoroughly cleaned during the day and overnight. • Computers will not be shared. • Children will use the same computer over the day. • Children will sit one computer apart • The room will be thoroughly cleaned between camps and throughout the day.
